Hesperocallis undulata

More commonly known as the Desert Lily, this plant, native the the extreme conditions of the SouthWest, is known for it’s highly fragrant trumpet shaped blooms that only appear after heavy rain, and then quickly expire. The gesture of the undulating, scalloped leaves store water to help it survive, but are also quite elegant.
